2- COMPLETING AN APPLICATION

The application for an agency licence must be submitted by the company’s representative for the purposes of the Private Security Act. For more information on the agency representative’s role, please consult the following link.

The BSP offers two options to apply for a new agency licence:

Option 1 :  Online (Secured portal)

Simple and fast, access the secured portal to complete your agency licence application.

IMPORTANT (PAYMENT):
In order to complete your request via the portal Accès Agence, it is imperative to hold a credit card, as no other means of payment is accepted.

You will need to create a user profile as an agency representative to access the portal and to follow the indicated steps in order to complete and submit an application for an agency licence online.

Option 2 : By mail

1) Complete the form by filling the Agency licence application form (194.101).
Do not forget to sign (or have signed) and date the required pages.
2) Attach all the required documents listed in the "Document checklist’’.
3) Pay the fees by using one of the payment methods provided on the form.
4) Submit your application to the following mailing address :

Important :

Only send copies of official documents (except for the surety bond)

Not filling out all sections of this form or not sending all required documents or payment could lead to the inadmissibility of your application and return of your documents, and /or significantly delay the processing of your application.

3- PROCESSING THE APPLICATION

Processing time
Failure to complete all sections of a form and to attach all required documents and payments will results in significant delays in processing your application, or in your application being inadmissible and your documents being returned.  Be sure to verify your application for compliance before submitting it to our team.

 

Cancelling a licence application
Should you change your mind while your agency licence application is being processed and want to cancel it, please complete the Cancellation of an Application for a Licence form (194.113) and send it to us.

Please note that the security verification fee is not refundable under any circumstances and the license fee will only be refunded in half in the event the license is not issued.

 

Licence issue and entry in the register
If your enterprise is issued an agency licence, subject to compliance with the prescribed obligations, it will remain in effect for 3 years. The licence and any copies of it, if applicable, will be mailed to the attention of the representative so that it can be displayed in each of the agency’s places of business in Québec.

The following information on your agency will then be published in the Register of licence holders:

  • Name of your business, and those under which it operates;

  • Number, class, and term of any issued licence as well as the disposition of any decisions made in respect to such licence;

  • Contact details for the head office and each place of business;

  • Name of the representative;
