Reporting to the Chief, Security officer of the Old Port of Montreal Corporation, your mission will be to assist the Chief in the management of the security team to ensure a safe environment for people and property on the Old Port of Montreal site and the Montreal Science Centre.

 

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages, motivates and develops the supervisors and patrol officers in the department (recruitment, evaluation, discipline, ongoing training, etc.), clearly states the department's expectations, provides direction and ensures follow[1]up;
  • Through coaching of supervisors, establishes guidelines and standards for the reception and training of new employees;
  • Ensures optimal management of work schedules according to needs and budgets;
  • Ensures the compliance and application of the collective agreement as well as the policies and procedures in effect at the Company, particularly with respect to occupational health and safety;
  • Validates and approves the time sheets in the time management software for its employees and assists supervisors in this regard;
  • Ensures the transmission of information necessary for the smooth running of the department's activities;
  • Manages the operations of the security department;
  • Under the supervision of the Chief of Security, writes reports, analyzes performance and ensures that control measures are respected;
  • Implements work methods and tools to ensure that the operations of the prevention and protection department run smoothly and efficiently;
  • Participates in the development and revision of department policies and procedures;
  • Ensures an on-site presence by supervising operations during events;
  • Ensures the proper functioning and management of equipment and systems (cameras, fire equipment, access management, etc.).

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • University certificate in administration or other relevant discipline
  • Computer knowledge MS Office Suite (intermediate level)
  • Bilingualism: English (intermediate, level 3)
  • Valid driver's license
  • BSP licence, an asset
